Minecraft Java Edition Or Windows 10

I will be mostly playing survival with my friends and sometimes online multiplayer so not so sure on which one....are there any vast differences between these two?

If you want to play together with console players you need Windows 10. If you only want to play with other players on PC then Java is better. It has access to more servers, as well as better mod support. Also redstone works correctly in the Java version.

Thanks.....also is it too complicated too play over the internet with friends? Cus others are suggesting me for windows 10 as it seems to be easy without inputting these ip and all these stuffs i saw at a site in order to play with friends over the internet

Java edition is the version most people of this community like. Bedrock is more with a business model from Microsoft, think about the minecraft coins in the marketplace. Java edition is with mods, more servers, less bugs (in my opinion). I think java is better. You should ask your friends which version they play, because there is no support to play multiplayer with java and bedrock edition.

No official support. There are ways of doing it but they are eh support wise.

Windows 10 gets better frame rate and has cross-platform. But java is a lot more polished. It's personal preference really. However windows 10 does have much easier multiplayer than java, you don't need any third party servers or anything

You don't need third party servers with Java either, you can host your own or by a realm.

Don't get stuck in bedrock edition like me go java

If some of your friends have already bought the game; go with whatever edition they bought. The two editions are not compatible with each other, so if you were to buy the wrong edition, you will not be able to play multiplayer. Mini blog

Other than that, it depends on what you want to do;

If you want to use mods, go for the Java Edition. The Windows 10 Edition doesn't have nearly as much customization as the Java Edition does.

If you (or one of your friends) is using a Windows 7/8/8.1, Linux, or Mac computer, then buy the Java Edition. The Windows 10 Edition only works on Windows 10 devices (as its name implies).

If you want to play with console or mobile players, get the Windows 10 Edition. The Java Edition has no cross-platform multiplayer.
