New WoW player looking for a private server.

Hello guys! I have always wanted to play WoW but was unable to afford it. Then I found that you can play for free on private servers. I want some recommendations on which server should I select. I am new to this world so I can not select an expansion to play.

I suggest you try out TurtleWoW. It's the same game as it was in 2004. There have been some nice custom content (and more are being added). Add to this a great community that's very Newbie-friendly (don't expect this from Warmane).

ChromieCraft is also a great server and community, but unfortunately (for me) it runs on the WotLK client - this makes the game very easy. It's very beginner-friendly too. However, I don't like playing WoW without any challenge - Vanilla, the base game, has a perfect difficulty level for me.

Both have a decent-sized population, CC is a bit more than TurtleWoW, and both have been steadily growing over the last months. There are plenty of other people to play with.

Chromie is very cool. It has made the game so much more enjoyable.

Chromie is great for new players, there's no rush to finish the game and a friendly community.

Is blizzlike, so it is exactly how it was intended to play. Version is 3.3.5.

It is currently at lvl 49 max and will release lvl59 cap next month.

if you love progression & leveling i suggest giving chromiecraft a try, currently the level cap is 49 (will increase to 59 on octo 2nd) the server has good devs and the community is pretty nice :D

Big thanks dude. What expansion is this server running? What is the population of this server's expansion?

Chromie's fun and easy-going nature makes it a great choice. I also like it over most Vanillas because I don't get carpal tunnel having to click loot each item as opposed to having autoloot in the newer client.

I played a lot of wow back in the day and now im playing on warmane lordaeron server. I have the answer you are looking. U should play tauri wow (evermoon server). I dont play there but i checked it to see if its any good and omg every quest works. Population is decent and servers are running like a charm. I would play tauriwow if I could. Turtlewow can be good, but it is limited in population and has custom content. Chromie is good i can recommend that too. But you should play more modern patch (such as cataclysm/mists of pandaria), because many quests have been modified by expansions (thousands) Give tauriwow an opportunity, you won't regret it. Ilder expansions can be difficult to use and require a lot of add-ons to make them user-friendly.

Turtle Wow is a great option if you're looking for something more traditional. 1x xp rates, PvE realm containing some custom content

Everyone is sugegsting Chromiecraft. Is it better than Warmane guys? What are the similarities and differences between these servers?

at ChromieCraft, we:

- are fully open-source have a completely different philosophy (see https://www.reddit.com/r/ChromieCraft/comments/o755do/how_private_servers_work_technically_and_why_imho/ )

- Our shop sells only mounts, bags, and pets... nothing that can make your character stronger.

- We are a non-profit organization (we reinvest all profits into the project without any gain for the owners).

- have a unique ( yet blizzlike-flavoured) progression ( https://www.chromiecraft.com/progression/ )

- never fake our numbers and are always transparent about how many active accounts/ip there are ( https://chromiecraft.com/apps/server-status/ )

- We are a friendly and welcoming community

Choose an expansion first

jesus Christ, the chromie & turtle shills This is some bannable content, obvious discord raids

wotlk is warmane, bigpop, 4 realms to choose from cata = apollo. The one-and-only mop = tauri.

We wouldn't recommend anything for new players that was not wotlk or past mops

I'm enjoying casually leveling up on Darrowshire. It's a vanilla x1 server with a few QoL improvements, such as a cap to the cost of respeccing. It isn't advanced and there are approximately 1500-2000 players online during European nights at all levels.

Some people have a poor opinion of the server on this subreddit, but most complaints are gossip and hearsay, so take it with a grain of salt

Warmane is also a good server if you are looking for a high-popping server. Although it is a controversial server due to its toxic playerbase, queue, and cash shop, it is a decent server if that's your thing and you are able to handle the server.

However, it's a server for pvp so you could die a lot if your territory is neutral. Server list

I could direct to a private server for you, but first I must know the expansion or vanilla (original WoW) you want to play.

There are five main versions of pservers: vanilla, Wotlk and Cata.

I'd be happy to give you more information if that is what WoW version you need.

I don't know what the differences are, but I did a little research and found that I really like Wotlk. Many people claim it to be the best expansion.

I've been playing Project Ascension for a while... Best I've seen so far. I have not yet done raids. They have normal, heroic and mythic dungeons/ raids. You can also create custom classless builds.

My favorite xpac is mists in pandaria by far. I miss the OG monk, the feeling of running gold-timed runs, and the feeling of running them.
