Want to get a better Minecraft experience on Steam Deck or with Gamepads as a whole? It's possible with the latest Minecraft versions thanks to a new mod. Minecraft

The new mod is named MidnightControls, a fork of the old and unmaintained LambdaControls and it's open source. Servers The developer who has taken it on has made sure it's cleaned up and working again, along with adding in support for the Steam Deck and in my own testing it works rather nicely. I used the PolyMC launcher for Linux and Steam Deck. You can see a previous guide on PolyMC in this article.

First, the video example shows how it is done. Then comes the text guide.

How to do this:

1. First with PolyMC, set Steam Input into Gamepad with Mouse, and set the right trackpad to Left Mouse Click. 2. Open PolyMC and add a new instance. Set the mod loader at Fabric and click OK. 3. Now hit the View Mods button and then Download Mods. 4. Pick the MidnightLib, MidnightControls, and Fabric API. 5. Once downloaded, load up your new Minecraft instance. 6. Go to the Options -> Controls section -> Controller.
